Back to basics. Simplicity and playability were the focus in developing the Kendama USA Classic series. Made of birch wood, this Kendama is the lightest and softest wood in our collection. This is the first Kendama we have manufactured using the traditional 2 piece Japanese handle and stringing assembly, instead of the "fixed" handle style of the Tribute Kendama. A perfect choice for the player who is looking for an affordable Kendama, but isn't willing to sacrifice playability.
Please note that unlike the Tribute models, the Classics are a simplified product and do not include instructions, stickers, extra strings, or a metal reinforcement inside the handle.
My son bought a red one and after my daughter saw it she just had to have one so she got the green one and loves it. All their friends want one too.
The best decision of my life
This is a quality dama for its purposes and price. No, it doesn't slay lunars and lighthouses, but it's not supposed to. My first birch dama, and I like birch so far. It's a soft wood, and after some break in, good for stalls. Slings like a dream. SUPER durable paint, this thing has been yanked many, many times and not a single chip in the paint. This is a dama that you can play without remorse, because it is $15 and super durable. The bevel is suprisingly wide, actually, it seems to be wider than both types of kaizens. I got very lucky and mine came less than one gram apart (ken and tama), so it's really good for string flow. Mine was pretty light, both high 60's. overall very comparable to the Tk-16, super durable, sling monster, birch, just cop it. It's $15.
