"The design inspiration for this Kendama comes from something that many folks have come to know and love: the Japanese Konbini, or convenience store. From food, to drink, to home goods, to merch. There truly isn’t a thing that feels like they’re missing.
The design itself leans into my love of spray paint and graffiti. Japan is known for very clean streets and an overall large lack of graffiti, so I wanted to take that idea and run with it. “What would it look like if I was able to paint a Konbini storefront?”
The Kendama will be nestled inside of a drawstring bag that is inspired by those found in the Japanese stores, with my own spin on it. The “Eeriechiki”.
On top of all of the design elements, this collab sits on a new ken shape; The Eerie Shape 2. The ES2 is an evolution of my first shape that I made in collaboration with the Craft Shop back in 2023. Prototyped and perfected in the U.S. and finalized on the new design for this collaboration."
