If chipping is a big concern for you, we would recommend our Kaizen Kendamas which have non-laminated wood options better suited to resist chipping.
The laminated wood on the ken is dyed, and the color can rub off onto your hand or other surfaces. You may want to treat the wood with Kenditioner or another wood sealer to help reduce the color from bleeding.
